A curated list of Dev and DevOps Community events and Meetups to attend this April.

Happy April Everyone! Personally, it's my favourite month of all! Why? Well, the sun is out, nature is blooming, but most importantly Me and Dom are both born in April! So to celebrate getting old, we’re officially expanding our coverage due to the popularity of our Meetup Calendar, and we will now cover Dev meetups as well!

Meetup Highlights for April:

After their Kubentines edition in February, Kubernetes Meetup is finally back. As usual, Ivan Pedrazas and Milos Gajdos will welcome us with some seasonal jokes and an amazing line-up of speakers from Google, Shopify, ControlPlane and Ticketmaster! The attendance list is full, but don’t give up and try to jump on the waitlist.

Next up is Microservices Meetup which is going through some serious revival! Last month there were over 150 people attending at Gamesys, this month we will all meet at Farfetch. Dario tends to keep his speaker list secret till the week before, so make sure to register early if you’re a microservices fan.

Finally, don’t forget to keep your eye out for the RSVP list opening to attend the London DevOps Meetup! This one always gets full quickly and there is a reason for it. We will send the tweet out once the list is open.

Meetup Mates:

Finally, we’ve officially launched pre-registrations to join Meetup Mates - an online community for everyone who wants to attend meetups but doesn’t have anyone to go with, or simply wants to make new friends with other Meetup communities in London. Me and Dom are now looking for 50 brave sailors (yes it’s a pirate-themed community) to help us test the waters before our official launch in June. So if you’re up for being one of the founding members, register now to be our mate! :)

Here are all the amazing events happening in London this month. We are going to be there, so don’t be shy, come find us and say hello! ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

You can add our meetup calendar here:

[DEVOPS] London DevOps - Register to attend here

This one you cannot miss. London DevOps always brings great speakers and is an awesome first step to become an active participant in the DevOps Community in London. Every month, London DevOps Group members meet to discuss anything and everything about DevOps such as Automation, Orchestration, Containers, Virtualisation, Service Discovery, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Register early to avoid the waitlist!

[DEV] Testing Java Microservices: From Development to Production - Register to attend here

Testing microservices is challenging. Dividing a system into components (à la microservices) naturally creates inter-component dependencies, and each service has its own performance and fault-tolerance characteristics that need to be validated during development, the QA process, and continually in production. Attend this meetup to learn about the theory, techniques, and practices needed to overcome this challenge.

Monday, 15 April

[DEV] JS Monthly #61, April Meetup - Register to attend here

Do you want to keep up with the latest trends in the Javascript evolution? This meetup group aims to bring you monthly bite-sized updates on the world of Javascript along with a healthy dose of nice people, beer and pizza. JS Monthly gets filled up quickly so make sure to register in advance.

Tuesday, 16 April

To attend this meetup, make sure to register via Skills Matter.

Wednesday, 24 April

[DEVOPS] SEAM#25 - Register to attend here

SEAM is the monthly Study of Enterprise Agility Meetup. This Meetup is focussed more on the enterprise side of technology, so if you’re interested in what organisations are attempting to achieve as well as how to go about it, this Meetup is perfect for you.
